I’m pleased to announce that OpenText has acquired Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based eDiscovery software for large-scale discovery and regulatory compliance.

This acquisition extends our leadership in both the Enterprise eDiscovery and Legal Tech markets, increasing our scale and scope with new capabilities, new enterprise customers and deeper coverage of the eDiscovery market—from Europe to Asia to North America.

The Catalyst Insight product line complements our current eDiscovery portfolio: Additional functionality includes multi-matter document support, legal hold and hold order management and subject matter expertise in eDiscovery Managed Services. With analytics and Technology Assisted Review (TAR) at the core of our integrated offerings, synergies between OpenText and Catalyst products will provide a range of legal solutions unmatched in the market today.

The Legal Tech market is estimated to be in the billions. Innovation in the market is being driven by technologies, like artificial intelligence (AI), analytics and machine learning (ML). The purpose of each eDiscovery effort (be it litigation, regulatory compliance or internal investigation) is to find information as thoroughly and quickly as possible. AI, analytics and ML are disrupting traditional approaches, empowering corporations to take better control of their eDiscovery processes and costs and law firms to provide superior, differentiated services for their customers.

With legal solutions available as hosted (SaaS) or managed services, OpenText is uniquely positioned to help corporations take advantage of market disruption. We will continue to invest in eDiscovery processes, analytics, AI, cloud and managed services to improve effectiveness, deliver insights and maximize existing technology investments for our customers.

Catalyst brings 20 years of proven success with top corporations and legal firms to the OpenText Legal portfolio, including localized knowledge, language and expertise in Asia. Seventy-eight of the Fortune 100 trust OpenText Legal for eDiscovery, security and compliance. This acquisition reinforces our vision to deliver the most powerful and comprehensive legal technology solutions available today.

Please join me in welcoming Catalyst customers, partners and employees to the OpenText family.
