OpenText OpenStudio: Responsible AI & Canadian Market Leadership

Introduction

Ajit Yohannan: Hi everyone, welcome to OpenStudio. My name is Ajit Yohannan and we are here with amazing conversations and we are here in the day two of our OpenText World, and excitement has been great, and we continue this conversation with some of our leaders, and I’m so glad to have with me Peter Theocharis, who heads our sales for Canada. Welcome to OpenStudio, Peter.

Peter Theocharis: Thank you for having me. Exciting times.

Canadian Customer Priorities

Ajit: I just want to know what’s been your experience, you come from Canada. That perspective, what’s the customer saying? Share something about that.

Peter: Well, interesting. I was coming here and expecting to hear so many more different things than what I’m hearing up in Canada, but the reality is I’m hearing the same messages here. So the messages are clear. They’re the same across the globe, and certainly they’re resonating here at OpenText World. And when I think of Canada and what we’re doing, everyone is interested and focused on responsible AI, strong cybersecurity, and certainly focusing on compliance. And that’s what we’re seeing right here at OpenText World.

OpenText’s Canadian Presence

Ajit: And OpenText being a proud Canadian company, what’s the experience with the global? I see a strong representation of the companies here as well.

Peter: So Canadian companies continue to emphasize and focus on three things: trust, compliance, and innovation. And they truly appreciate that we’re, that OpenText is headquartered in Canada and that we understand their needs, that we can meet them where they are. As I mentioned, we’ve got employees, 2,900 employees all across Canada, spread across major hub locations like Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, Richmond Hill, Calgary, and Vancouver. So we can meet them where they are, we understand their requirements, and quite frankly, they trust us.

FY26 Priorities for Canada

Ajit: That’s awesome. And as you look at the FY26 priorities, how do you see that’s shaping up? What’s the new thing you’re taking to our customers?

Peter: There really isn’t much that’s changing in terms of our fiscal 26 priorities. They really are continuing what we’re focusing on, which is accelerating AI adoption, strengthening our cybersecurity focus and deepening our partnerships with our Canadian enterprises and the government. And we’re going to continue to invest in those areas and we’re going to continue to invest in local talent, making sure that we continue to strengthen our partnerships with our over 225 partners in Canada and continue to grow our business in Canada. Invest in the 2,900 employees that we have.

Closing

Ajit: That’s awesome back home. Yeah, it looks like a great time ahead for OpenText and in Canada for our partners, employees and customers. Thank you so much for speaking to us, Peter. It’s been a great pleasure.

Peter: Thank you, it’s amazing. Thank you for having me.

Ajit: Thank you. Thanks, everyone. Thanks for tuning in.
