メンズ・レディースウェアの企画・販売・製造を行う株式会社アーバンリサーチは、取引先とのデータ連携にWeb-EDI を活用してきました。しかし、アパレル特有の生産調整への対応が難しかったため、従来の仕組みを見直し、EDI 連携ソリューションのOpenText Business Network Cloud とWeb-EDI ソリューションのOpenText Active Ordersを導入。発注や納品データの修正/ 更新が迅速化し、倉庫業務の効率も上がって製品リードタイムが短縮されています。 アパレル特有の商習慣に対応する業務実態に合ったEDIの導入を検討 1974年に大阪で創業したアーバンリサーチは「URBAN RESEARCH」をはじめ、さまざまなコンセプトのメンズ・レディースブランドを全国に展開しています。近年はレストラン、バー、キャンプ場なども運営し、さまざまなコラボレーションを実現しています。2023年に長野県で開催したキャンプフェスティバル『TINYGARDEN FESTIVAL 2023』、東静岡のマーケットイベント『YES GOOD MARKET 2023』の全面サポートなど、買い物体験をより高めるための取り組みも推進しています。同社のアパレル製品の一部は、生地メーカーと生地を共同開発して独自にデザインし、外部の取引先に生産を委託しています。2,000社近くある生産委託先のうち商社経由で取引する約400社とは、Web-EDIを介して発注、納品、請求、支払等のデータをやり取りします。しかし、数年前に導入したWeb-EDIシステムは、スーパーやドラッグストア向けに開発された製品で、機能面でアパレル特有の商習慣への対応に限界がありました。業務システム課 マネージャーの谷口あい氏は次のように語ります。「アパレルの場合、例えば1,000 着分の生地を仕入れて生産を委託したとしても、結果として100着多い1,100着分が作れたり、900 着分しか作れなかったりと、納品数に差が生じることがあります。さらに、複数の生地を組み合わせる場合、生地の調達の都合によっては先に500着、後から500着といった分納も発生します。以前のWeb-EDIで発注や納品データを修正するときには、当社の発注管理者と取引先との間で手作業での調整が必要でした」現在、同社は全社的に基幹システムや倉庫システムのリプレースを進めています。そこで先行して、業務実態に適したEDI の導入を検討することになりました。 柔軟性が高くUIが使いやすいオープンテキストのEDIを採用 アーバンリサーチは複数の製品を検討し、EDI連携ソリューションのOpenText…
