Business Process Management (BPM) has come a long way in the last 5 years. Originally designed to tackle the most complex business processes and case management challenges in large organizations – it has become a central element of a successful digital transformation strategy.

Today, the technology is better known as Digital Process Automation and the latest Forrester Wave: Software for Digital Process Automation for Deep Deployments, Q2 2019 outlines the 10 technology vendors who matter most in this market. Focused on digital process automation for deep deployments (DPA deep), the Forrester Wave highlights that “as…customers grapple with developing more process-driven applications, vendors (must) address the most complex process requirements while serving a less technically adroit developer audience.” It is this ability to address “deep-process” and “low-code” that sets the leaders of the wave apart from the rest of the pack.

OpenText™ is excited to announce that we have been positioned as a leader in this latest Forrester Wave. Being a leader in any Forrester Wave is a great accolade, but we are especially pleased to have moved into the Leader segment for deep digital process automation for the first time!

“We are thrilled to be ranked by Forrester as a leader for deep digital process automation,” said Muhi Majzoub, EVP Engineering, OpenText. “In our view, this validates our commitment to using AI and automation to improve productivity and reduce errors. With solutions such as AppWorks, we are helping our customers to transform their digital business processes.”

Forrester highlights that customers looking for DPA Deep solutions should look for vendors which offer:

  • Comprehensive process and case management capabilities.
  • Support for emerging technologies
  • A modern application architecture

And in their assessment of OpenText, the analysts comment that:

OpenText has focused on low-code development and cloud deployment on the OpenText Cloud. The offering excels in case management and is best when paired with OpenText’s Content Server and Extended ECM offering. This creates an integration bridge to leading business applications, most notably SAP. OpenText’s solution (AppWorks) shines within OpenText’s broader portfolio, which is preintegrated and designed to address specific use cases.

“Our customers demand a dynamic digital experience,” said Anoop Pabby, MD and CEO of DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance. “Shifting our operations to a digital-first approach using OpenText AppWorks and OpenText Content Suite has helped us manage our rapid growth while continuing to scale our high-level of customer service.”
