If your organization is configuring OpenText™ Content Management for SAP® SuccessFactors® (sold by SAP® as SAP® SuccessFactors® Extended ECM by OpenText), there is a critical requirement to understand upfront: key configuration activities require a certified consultant.

To access the Business Administration pages and perform core configuration tasks, customers must engage a consultant who has earned the OpenText Cloud Practitioner certification. This is not just a formality. It ensures that your solution is configured correctly, securely, and in alignment with proven best practices, helping reduce risk and avoid rework.

Your options for configuration support

When planning your project, you have two primary options for engaging certified expertise:

OpenText Professional Services

OpenText Professional Services offers deep product expertise and structured delivery, including Launch Service packages that provide guidance, quality checkpoints, and gated reviews at key stages. This helps ensure a smoother and more effective configuration process.

OpenText-certified partners

If you are working with a systems integrator or consulting partner, they can support your project as long as they have certified consultants in place. Your SAP or OpenText representative can provide a list of preferred partners if needed. If you have already selected a partner, they must complete the certification program prior to the start of the project.

Before configuration begins, be sure to validate certification credentials. Certified consultants can provide a digital badge, which can also be verified through the Credly directory

Don’t overlook SAP SuccessFactors expertise

In addition to OpenText certification, your project will require support from an SAP SuccessFactors–certified professional. Certain tasks must be completed within SAP SuccessFactors, including role-based permissions, single sign-on configuration, and key integration points.

Planning for this expertise early helps avoid delays and ensures a seamless connection between systems.

Supporting your solution after go-live

As your organization enhances and extends the solution, ongoing training and support can help maintain momentum. Instructor -led or self-paced learning builds internal expertise, while Premium Support provides faster response times and access to dedicated specialists.

Key considerations before you begin

Before starting your configuration, make sure you:

  • Engage a Cloud Practitioner–certified consultant
  • Decide on OpenText Professional Services or a certified partner
  • Validate certification credentials in advance
  • Include SAP SuccessFactors expertise in your project plan

Taking these steps early will help reduce risk, avoid delays, and set your HR digital transformation project up for long-term success.
