Taking intelligent and connected enterprises on the road

Upcoming OpenText and SAP events - September 2018

Content still forms a large percentage of all data attached to an SAP® process, and if you’re only basing your machine learning and AI technologies on structured data, you’re missing a key source of knowledge. By adding properly managed unstructured content to the data in context, you can provide a full view of all information and gain accurate insights and intelligence – and OpenText can show you how.

We’re attending a number of SAP related events in the next few months and we’d love to talk to you about how the OpenText™ digital information platform enables you to build the intelligent and connected enterprise with SAP. So, where will we be in the next couple of months?

SAP SuccessConnect – Las Vegas

The biggest of our events in September is SuccessConnect, which runs from September 11-13 at the Aria in Las Vegas, NV. SuccessConnect is the premier customer conference for SAP® SuccessFactors® solutions customers and OpenText is planning a powerhouse presence. SAP SuccessFactors customers are realizing the value of a cohesive approach for securely managing data and documents right within their HR solutions. This year, OpenText is hosting multiple activities so customers can hear, see and learn how managing the end to end document lifecycle integrated within SAP SuccessFactors will drive efficiencies and improve the employee experience.

OpenText activities at SuccessConnect 2018:

  • OpenText speaker session: Join British American Tobacco to hear “Harmonizing Employee Central, Shared Services and HR Document Management” at session #65653 on Wednesday at 4:15 pm in Orovada 8.
  • Show floor demos: Stop by the OpenText booth (G1) for an ad hoc demo or schedule a time here.
  • Customer roundtable: British American Tobacco’s Andy Straw, IT Programme Manager, will lead an interactive session to answer your customer’s most pressing questions about the value of the OpenText solution. Registration required.
  • Private meetings room: Schedule a time to sit down with OpenText subject matter experts for a private 1:1 meeting or a personalized demo.

Little known Las Vegas fact: I once got married there. Also, the majority of the Las Vegas Strip (the road that has all the major casino-hotels) is not actually in the Las Vegas limits – its in the neighboring town of Paradise.

SAP Forum Brazil – Sao Paulo, Brazil

The largest user forum in South America, SAP Forum Brazil takes place on September 11-12. Our key theme for this event is all around Shared Services, and how OpenText enables the creation and support to shared service centers in Finance, HR, IT Operations and Customer Support. Recently, our customer Bunge won a prestigious award for shared services creation. Shared services are not a new topic, but intelligent shared services can generate even more efficiencies – such as how machine learning can be leveraged to understand and automate the addition of new types of content for digitization with the minimum of human interaction, or how intelligence can be applied to HR shared services to understand staffing needs and trends in the workforce. Please join us for our presentation on this topic, or attend our booth.

Little known São Paulo fact: The city of São Paulo has the largest helicopter fleet in the world with 210 heliports in the city where approximately 1,300 aircrafts land and depart daily. Every 5 minutes, at least 4 helicopters land or take off from one of the city’s many tall buildings.

SAP Innovation Forum – Copenhagen

This year’s SAP Innovation Forum Nordics 2018 will take place in Copenhagen on September 19-20. Featuring customers from all over the Nordic region, we will be presenting with SAP on the value and importance of content services in supporting intelligent and connected enterprises. Innovation comes in many forms, and for us innovation is exposing content in all its forms into SAP workspaces, enabling the analysis and intelligence that can only be found by including content in any machine learning/AI solutions. We will have experts in attendance at our four expo booths to share insight and talk about applying digital content intelligence in Finance transformation and IT Operations, driving seamless Customer Experiences (with C/4HANA) and engagement for the new workforce. You can arrange a meeting with OpenText here.

Little known Copenhagen fact: Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world and was the source of inspiration for Walt Disney prior to creating Disneyland.

SAP Customer Forum – Luxembourg

SAP customer forum in Luxembourg is the largest regional customer forum and takes place on September 26. This event welcomes guests from across the Benelux region and further afield. We will be hosting a lunch session where we will hold an informal discussion on the following topics:

  • Driving value through managing unstructured content by harnessing the digital core from SAP underpinned by the digital content platform from OpenText Corporation.
  • Learning how work performed by SAP and OpenText can deliver a fully integrated solution to bring content into context with business process and enable the intelligent and connected enterprise.
  • Understanding why now is the optimum time to reconsider your content and information strategy as a pivotal part of any digital transformation initiatives.

Digital transformation can be applied much faster, and intelligent decisions made more accurately when content and data are synchronized. Whenever a human is involved there will be content generated – be it the content derived from analyzing massive volumes of data from device sensors, to the content that confirms that an action (such as repair) has been completed. This is what forms the intelligent enterprise.

As well as lunch, we will be on the show floor throughout the day ready to discuss any of the above topics or anything else related to the intelligent and connected enterprise and OpenText, so please stop by the stand.

Little known Luxembourg fact: The restaurant with the world’s largest wine list is in Luxembourg. If you visit the Restaurant Chiggeri in the city of Luxembourg, you can take your pick from more than 2,200 different wines.

SAP VNSG Connect to Innovate – Nieuwegein, Holland

Our theme at this year’s Connect to Innovate, being held from October 2-3, is “Rise of the Drones”. Drones and other devices are becoming more ubiquitous in not only the home but also the work place. Drones in particular are already seeing important use cases in the oil and gas, utilities and manufacturing sectors. It is important to remember that a lot of these smart devices will generate non-traditional forms of content, such as video and audio. Take, for example, a pipeline inspection process. Although the drone sensors can intelligently point out problems, the user may still need to visually identify and confirm the fault at the correct time in the video.

OpenText™ Extended ECM for SAP® Solutions and OpenText™ Digital Asset Management for SAP® Solutions enable customers to integrate traditional and rich media content into the pipeline inspection process, ensuring that all information is available to the user, and that the video content is correctly identified, managed and adds value to the entire process. We will be showcasing a demonstration of this on our stand at this event.

You can watch this video here for a brief summary of the challenge.

Little known Nieuwegein fact: The Internet has failed me on this one, but Nieuwegein is in the province of Utrecht, birthplace of Pope Adrian V1, the first and only Dutch Pope (Jan 1522, to September 1523).

Join us at one ore more of these events and learn how to transform your organization into an intelligent and connected enterprise with SAP and OpenText!
