Experience matters at Innovation Tour Munich and London

Have your say on your user experience

No, this is not a blog about customer experience. It’s about you, the users of OpenText solutions and specifically those of you attending Innovation Tours in London and Munich.

User experience is defined as “the overall experience of a person using a product such as a website or computer application, especially in terms of how easy or pleasing it is to use.”

A good user experience can have a massive effect on the adoption of any given solution by the end users. A good user experience enables users to adopt a new solution quickly. The more complex the experience, the harder it is to adopt and the less likely users will engage with the solution. Further emotional effects include promotion and advocacy, both inside and outside an organisation.

User experience is a big topic – we can see how every company invests in their experience, including partners of OpenText like SAP and their Fiori user interface, Microsoft’s Tiles, and Lightning from Salesforce.

User Experience design

Of course we at OpenText take UX seriously as well. It’s been almost 4 years since we introduced our Smart UI to Content Suite – replacing the powerful but challenging ‘Classic view’. The user feedback on the Smart UI was phenomenal.

  • “Simple, clean and modern. I’ve been wanting it a long time.”
  • “Much easier to use than current UI, nice and modern, like getting a new car compared to the old car. Excellent interface.”

But we are not resting on our laurels. We continue to innovate and enhance the Smart UI, rolling out the same UX into other OpenText solutions such as Extended ECM platform, and the Documentum D2 platform.

One of the key items of feedback that our UX teams rely on is customer feedback. At Innovation Tour Munich and London, our UX team will be running short customer feedback sessions where we will invite you to come and assist us, by taking part in a short 20 minute usability test and feedback session. The key UI that will be tested is the new Smart UI for D2, as well as External Sharing.

Please register your interest in a feedback session here and come and help us continue to deliver the best user experiences to you.

See you at Innovation Tour London or Munich!
