While 50 of Amatil’s largest trading partners use EDI to submit orders via the OpenText™ B2B platform, other partners didn’t have the technology to move to EDI. Instead, they send orders via email, and the company was receiving over 90,000 per year. Manual processing for these orders carried inherent delays and errors.
As a long-time customer of OpenText™ B2B Managed Services, Amatil now automates incoming email orders with OpenText™ Email2EDI, converting inbound emails with PDF attachments into data that populates Amatil’s back-end system. The new solution required no change or investment from its trading partners and the integrated system improves order accuracy, eliminating the possibility of data entry errors for email orders.

Since orders are processed accurately within minutes rather than hours, Amatil was able to extend cutoff time by three hours, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. And customers continue using existing email-based order systems.
