5 Reasons to attend Cerner Health Conference 2019

What you can expect from OpenText at this year’s conference

The Cerner Health Conference (CHC) 2019 is right around the corner — October 7-9, 2019 — offering three full days of healthcare education, innovative technology and networking to more than 14,000 attendees. OpenText™ will be there – in booth #807 on the exhibitor’s floor, and we invite you to stop by.

With well over 100 exhibitors across the 90,000 square feet of show floor, it can be a challenge for attendees to know who to talk to. To make it easy, here are five ways to engage with OpenText at this year’s CHC conference.

1. Understand the OpenText-Cerner partnership

Cerner embeds OpenText technology into their leading electronic health records (EHR) system — Millennium —which supports an enterprise-wide view of patient care at the point care is delivered, in both acute inpatient and outpatient settings.

OpenText™ ApplicationXtender (AX) is used within Millennium’s Connect360 module as a capture and content management engine with strong process automation capabilities.

AX performs tasks such as:

  • extracting key data from documents that come in through common clinical processes, such as billing, accounts payable, and scheduling (to name a few),
  • routing extracted data to the appropriate systems and processes, and
  • storing documents and records on the back-end to be viewed later.

2. Identify ways AX can enable and enhance your products and solutions

At its core, AX is a content services product that provides information capture and content management capabilities that deploy within a process to help automate information flow. As highlighted in this blog, AX can be relied on as a solution on its own, but its best use case is when it is extending the capabilities of existing applications — giving users access to the information they need in the systems they are used to working in.

This is the key value-proposition of AX — seamlessly integrate with existing solutions to extend their content services capabilities. Through the OpenText OEM program, AX is utilized across multiple industries, including highly regulated ones:

  • Healthcare diagnostic solutions, providing the front-end forms for users to input data.
  • University-specific content management solutions, providing content capture and storage capabilities.
  • Financial services software solutions, providing content services capabilities that mitigate risks and maintain compliance.

3. Learn how AX enables organizations on both sides of the healthcare industry

As mentioned above, AX is a key piece of the OpenText OEM Product Portfolio, a line of products and solutions aimed at technology companies across all industries. These hardware and software vendors can white-label and embed OpenText technology into their own products to enable and enhance their own customer offerings.

AX is also utilized by end-user organizations in healthcare (e.g., hospitals, clinics, centers, etc.) as a cost-effective platform for managing all their documents. Unlike many competitors, full capture of documents from any source is included in AX licensing — there are no hidden costs for scanners. AX has a simple, easy to use interface that includes the ability to find any document by search alone.

4. Find out what is new in AX

In January of 2017, OpenText completed its acquisition of Dell EMC’s Enterprise Content Division, bringing AX under the OpenText banner.

In the first year of ownership, OpenText showed its dedication to AX by investing in three consecutive product releases designed to fix bugs and add capabilities. Since then, AX has seen continued product investment bringing the solution into the modern vision of content services at OpenText.

With a new content services release announced at OpenText Enterprise World earlier this year, there could be even more enhancements to AX in store for OpenText partners and customers. To get a sneak peek at what’s to come, be sure to drop by our booth and talk with the experts.

5. Schedule your own AX demonstration

There’s only so much that we can show you at our booth. To truly understand how AX can enhance your healthcare application or operation, the best thing you can do is book a follow-up technical demonstration with one of our solutions experts.

We will have a team of staff on-site for you to book your own deep-dive demonstration for after the event. Be sure to visit us in order to set yours up.

See you at Cerner Health Conference 2019!
